Small preview imageMotorola ROKR is the name of the first iTunes-phone and just as expected Motorola ROKR (a.k.a. MotoROKR) was the main topic of Apple’s special event yesterday. This is a very important launch for Apple which with MotoROKR won’t let cell phones with MP3-player features steal market shares. At least not without Apple having a piece of the cake. The phone has an integrated iTunes-client and will work just as any iPod, with tranferring of files and synchronizing with with iTunes. Just as expected MotoROKR will have limits though as the phone will only be able to store 100 songs at the same time.

It seems quite clear that Apple does not want to risk any sales of regular MP3-players by limiting MotoROKR. The phone will be available in USA through the operator Cingular and at the end of September MotoROKR is expected to be launched worldwide.
