Motion Computing is a company that have been moving against the UMPC trend and have now released its new LE1700 Tablet PC. LE1700 Tablet PC is simply the new flagship of its Tablet PC series and through support for Motion Computing’s own WriteTouch technology you will be able to execute several things at the same time using the touchscreen 12.1″ display. The monitor is readable from pretty much any angle and even during really bright light. The portable computer is based on Intel’s Core 2 platform and can be had with both Core 2 Duo and Solo, and up to 4GB RAM. The operating system is Windows Vista and there is integrated support for both WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G/HSDPA. The battery time is about 3 hours and the price starts at a mere $1,999.

Motion Computing has also equipped each tablet PC with an anti-theft software and a system that makes it possible to locate it if it has been stolen, or perhaps just forgotten somewhere. It has also added protection for the internal harddrive to makes sure it isn’t damaged during hefty movements or falls from heights. The security thinking doesn’t stop there though, as LE1700 also has support for TPM (Trusted Platform Module) which makes it possible to encrypt and authenticate data through hardware and to make it even more secure there’s a fingerprint reader, which can also be used to move the mouse pointer.

”The LE1700WT includes the exclusive Motion WriteTouch display option for the most responsive dual-mode writing and touch-screen experience on the market. With the LE1700WT, Motion is the first to bring to market automatic switching between digitizer and touch input with a simple double-tap of a finger or hover with the digitized pen to go from one mode to the other. WriteTouch accepts input from the pad of a finger or digitized pen, but will not respond to other materials or objects.”
