EVGA continues to flirt with PC enthusiasts world across with a finished version of its Sandy Bridge-E motherboard EVGA X79 Classified E799. With its gigantic LGA2011 socket and five PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots the board is based on the coming X79 chipset.
Intel’s launch of the LGA2011 platforma nd enthusiast proessors Sandy Bridge-E is moving closer. The launch of the new enthusaist platform will in in early or late November and the motherboard manufacturers wants to show they are ready. EVGA has three different motherboard models coming sporting the new Intel X79 chipset and all will be on the market when Intel rolls out the new flagship.
The top model was shown at NVIDIA GeForce LAN 6 last week and the motherboard with the name EVGA X79 Classified E799 will target overclockers and enthusiasts. This shows from the fact that EVGA settles for four DDR3 memory slots, which is to prefer at heavy loads. The motherboard has a red-black scheme and offers goodies like five PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots for graphics cards, eight USB 3.0 ports and dual Gigabit Ethernet ports.
Other interesting functions include physical buttons for start and reboot, alse diodes for troubleshooting and dedicated measuring sports for voltages and a passive chipset cooling.
EVGA X79 Classified E799 appeared at GeForce LAN 6 together with an unknown Intel Sandy Bridge-E CPU and Intel’s coming water cooling kit for the Extreme Edition processors in the series. Prices and specific launch dates was not mentioned, but the top model of EVGA’s X79 family will cost around $350 where EVGA X58 Classified3 is today.
