NPD Research has now revealed the sales figures of video game consoles on the American market, and we’re certainly glad we’re not Sony. In March Sony sold 130,000 consoles and was the only manufacturer that was improving its sales, but during April the sales dropped drastically to 82,000; 37% fewer than last month. Nintendo on the other hand, increased its sales of Wii by 39% to 360,000 consoles and is still limited by the supply. Xbox 360 sold 174,000, down from 199,000, but all in all pretty much the same. The small drop has to be considered normal for the season. According to VGChartz.com Wii just broke 7 million and if this continues it will have surpassed Xbox 360 faster than we previously expected.
