Reviews of mice have become an almost completely subjective kind of reviews and this is simply because it’s nearly impossible to measure the performance of a mouse in the same way as you do with a graphics card or a processor. I.e. up until today, ESReality has namely decided to design a benchmark for mice where you actually get figures which you can compare with other mice. They walk you through the testing procedure for how to measure the sensitivity of a mouse and why it’s important that a mouse follows your exact movement. The measuring technology used here is quite interesting as they used a heavily modified record player for simulating mouse movements and reading how the mice handles different speeds.
The result is an impressive summarize of close to twenty mice to see what models are the best, not just subjectively but also in a scientific way. The results are in some cases a bit surprising and especially the fact that Laser mice are in no way superior of optimized optical mice. Very interesting reading for all of you who wants to know more about mice and how they perform in real life.
