Organic transistors made from carbon crystals have been used for quite some time now, but they have a big drawback that you have manufacture them ”one by one” and handpick them for later use. They are today used in RFID circuits, sensors and other small things, but through the progress made at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) it may very well be possible to do a full scale production of these. these single-crystals namely has the advantage of being very fast, about three times as fast as the transistors which are used by our TFT monitors and through this discovery it will be possible to manufacture large amounts of these fast transistors, but as usual there are things that needs to be solved before we will see a commercial solution.
