Apple’s new notebook, MacBook, has now been around for a few days and the first real tests have now started to surface. Apple’s seemingly powerful MacBook computers have impressed us with their theoretical performance and pretty slim and appealing design. At Ars Technica they’ve published a review of the white model of MacBook with a somewhat hotter processor, they’ve chosen the top model of the MacBook family, a Core Duo-processor at 2.0GHz. In Ars Technica’s review they’re overall pleased with MacBook and the final grade is high, they simply can’t find any real drawbacks.
NotebookReview has also taken a closer look at the white version of MacBook and just as Ars Technica they are pleased with the most. They appreciate the design and its rather unique keyboard. There are a few things that seems to annoy though, mainly a very intense heat dissipation. Both Ars Technica and NotebookReview had problems with unexplainably high temperatures and NotebookReview’s system crashed frequently because of this.
We’ve earlier reported about MacBook Pro suffering from overheating issues because of too plentiful use of cooling paste. It seems the problems are still there now that MacBook has arrived. In short, MacBook is simply too hot for its own good.
