LumiLED LCD is a new LCD-technology and the big difference compated to conventional LCD-panels is that LumiLED based panels are, just as the name implies, uses LED-background lighting. This has several advantages which in theory will sovle two of LCD’s biggest problems, bad color dynamics and rendering. NEC MultiSync 2180WG-LED is the first monitor on the market which use LED-background lighting and despite its rather mediocre specifications there is no doubt what advantages the LED-technology offers a LCD-panel. At Tomshardware they’ve tested the monitor and the results from the color tests are very impressive.
