Longhorn, Microsoft’s next operating system will according to the company’s VP Steve Ballmer be the biggest launch since Windows 95. Which maybe doesn’t sound much today but considering how much changed with Win95 those are some pretty strong words. As for technology Longhorn is quite a bit more advanced than Win95, but the revolutionizing effect it had will be hard to beat. Delays have been tormenting Longhorn but as this is a very large project we can’t really say we are surprised. Exactly how well the market will accept Longhorn remains to see, but the anticipations are rising steady.
