Longhorn is the name of Microsoft’s next version of Windows. Windows Vista will be the official name for the consumer market, but now we’ve found some information on the next version of Windows Server which is based on Longhorn. Microsoft will developed three version of Windows Server for three types of loads, where the Itanium-version will support databases, ERP and CRM applications. In other terms Microsoft will continue to support Intel’s x64 Itanium-processors and launch the Itanium-version of Windows Server sometime during 2007. Source: TechWorld
