LCD monitors has more or less taken over the computer market and now that most manufacturers are focusing on the LCD technology there is always new goals and targets coming up. Something we’ve already seen is the focus on widescreen displays with among others laptops. Now it seems that the monitor manufacturers will go even stronger for widescreen displays for the stationary market and according to ET Today several large manufacturers will start to focus more on the widescreen format. Acer, BenQ, ViewSonic, HP and Samsung are some of the companies mentioned in the report and considering that the prices of widescreen displays are expected to drop with about 30% the next sixth months it is looking good for widescreen monitors.
