The price of SDRAM memory (that includes DDR & DDRII) is expected to rise during the second quarter according to Etron Technology, a company that specialize in SDRAM manufacturing. The reason is simply the rising demand for SDRAM while more markets are integrating its products. Among others, it mentions mobile phones, LCD TVs and memory cards. The manufacturing is simply not fast enough to keep up with the high demand and Etron is expected to negotiate with its clients about new prices for the second quarter, prices it will announce next month. This can result in higher RAM prices, so if you’re about to buy some new modules now might be a good time.
