The world’s fastest graphics is also one of the most noisy. Cooling developers are of course happy and now the next company has stepped up to remedy this. Koolance has launched the VID-AR699 water block that is designed specifically for AMD’s new beast and its 450 watt output.

Koolance VID-AR699 measures 25.7cm x 12.2cm x 2cm and is a full cover design weighing 1 kg. The block not only cools the two Cayman XT circuits of Radeon HD 6990 but also the memory chips, PCI Express bridge and the powerful voltage regulators.

The water block uses a split design where Koolance has created three separate cooling bases to make the cooling more efficient; one for each GPU and one for the voltage regulators. The construction of the card uses three layers where a middle layer makes sure the water flow between the bases is even, while a acetal layer works as a lid.

Koolance uses nickel coated copper for the bases and the price will be around 150€, no nozzles included.

Koolance says that it is also working on a water block for NVIDIA’s new GeForce GTX 590 card, but pictures and specifications are not available.
