The first standardized DDR3 modules are working at 1066MHz, but several manufacturers have already launched DDR3-1333 modules to satisfy the needs of those with high demands. We’ve known for a long time that the DDR3 technology will offer a lot higher frequencies and to be honest, the JEDEC standards of 800-1066MHz is a bit of an insult, at the same time we’ve seen several impressive overclocking results with the new DDR3 modules. We’ve now received information about the first commercial DDR3 modules specified at speeds beyond 1333MHz.
Kingston is namely planning to display DDR3-1500 modules at Computex, hoping to gain some extra attention. You can count on several manufacturers planning similar demonstrations, but this is the first we’ve had confirmed.
