The KDE project has announced that KDE 4.0 has been delayed by two months, to December 20. During this time we will see another two beta releases. The reason for the delay is that crucial elements need more time than expected. The feature freeze remains though. The next beta (3) will arrive on September 24, and beta 4 on October 22. KDE 4.0 will then enter the Release Candidate stage with the first RC on November 21 and the second on December 5. Exactly what elements that need more time remains untold, but since the final release is still slated for this year we can’t really complain, even though we’re disappointed it has been delayed.
