We earlier reported about how Steve Jobs urged the music industry to trash DRM, but now that the first replies have been uttered things could be better. ”We advocate the continued . . . protection of our and our artists’ intellectual property,” was stated by Edgar Bronfman Jr., chief executive of the Warner Music Group during a press conference. Not everyone is as stubborn as these though and one of the companies that seem to be a bit more open to suggestion is EMI Group PLC, which is having discussions with online stores about selling music without DRM. EMI is the world’s third largest mus company so things may very well improve.
