Small preview imageJetway has made something as odd as a mainboard with three PCI Express x16 slots. Practically you can fit PCIe x16 kort but two of the slots only has an electronical connection of x8. You can’t use three graphic cards at the same time but this is only a unique solution for the use of SLI. The mainboard uses the base model of the nForce4-chipset that doesn’t support SLI usually but uses the ports to decide whether SLI is activated or not.

If you install a card in the yellow ”authentic” x16 slot the mainboard runs in normal mode. But if you use two cards in the green slots that only supports x8 the mainboard switches to SLI-mode. This way you won’t need a ”SLI-card” to switch mode, but at the same time not as convenient as the software solutions that has appeared lately. Exactly how Jetway’s card handles you can be read in OC Workbench’s review.
