Linus Torvalds is probably a wellknown person for most people. Our Finnish neighbour is the man behind the kernel of the open source operating system Linux and is a highly respected man in the PC-business. SiliconValley.com has now published an interview with Torvalds where he speaks out on the future of open source and Microsoft’s position on the market. There are a lot of interesting statements in this interview where Microsoft and its supreme position is somewhat of the red line. Torvalds is convinced that Microsoft won’t ”control” the PC-market for all eternity, but at the same time he can’t imagine a replacement for Microsoft with the curretn situation.
