Intel has laid the groundworks for what will be an aggressive hunt for taking down AMD’s K8 processors with the U-turn from high frequencies to focusing on performance/watt. During 2006 we will see several important launches where the new 65nm processors is one of them. Later on we will see the really big news; Intel’s new microprocessor architecture, where the desktop version is better known as Conroe. At DailyTech they’ve come across a roadmap for 2006, that shows what desktop processors Intel was thinking about launching this year. Some very interesting reading where we can see that the first Conroe models is expected to arrive during the third quarter.
