Intel recently launched its Core architecture that was based on its 65nm manufacturing process. When Intel took the step down to 90nm it was not as successful as many had hoped, but the step to 65nm has been consider by many as more than just successful. That Intel would then phase our its older processors to be able to focus completely on Core is hardly a surprise, and now DigiTimes has received information about when this will happen. The oldest, Pentium 4, will be left for the longest and we assume it is becuase it is still actually a cheaper alternative, especially among OEM manufacturers, while Pentium D and Pentium XE will be phased out earlier. Celeron D will also be phased out, but like Pentium 4 it will take a bit longer.
