Intel Santa Rosa is the next generation Centrino platform for laptops expected to arrive in 2007. One of the most de mest obvious news with the new Santa Rosa platform is the support for Intel’s Robson Technology. The technology that use NAND flash memory to speed up boot times, both for the operating system and program by storing the most frequently accessed information temporary on flash memory instead of the harddrive.


”This new cache technology, which allows for the storing of some data on NAND flash instead of on the hard disk drive (HDD), is able to speed up the boot up time for the operating system as well as applications. A recent MobileMag report also stated the new cache technology could add an additional 30 minutes to battery life.”
