Intel partner are ready with new motherboards and accessories before the launch of Sandy Bridge. Some boards are already available – not the least in Asia – and now the star of the show are out in the open. Intel’s first Sandy Bridge processors are now available in stores in Malaysia.

Intel will officially launch the new processor family and LGA1155 platform on January 5th 2011 during  CES in Las Vegas, but already the processors are available in some stores. The picture taken in Malaysian computer store Compuzone shows three boxed processors from the new family, Intel Core i7-2600, Core i5-2400 and Core i5-2300.

  • Intel Core i7-2600 (3.4 GHz, 8MB cache, 4 cores/8 threads)
  • Intel Core i5-2400 (3.1 GHz, 6MB cache, 4 cores/4 threads)
  • Intel Core i5-2300 (2.8 GHz, 6MB cache, 4 cores/4 threads)

There is no doubt in our mind these are the new mid-range models and with a range of models that will be moved down a peg in 2011 this should be a promising year for the budget geared enthusiasts.
