Intel G965 Express is the latest chipset to come out of Intel’s labs and we have earlier been able to report about G965 and specificly its integrated graphics circuit MA X3000. We’ve now received a press release from Intel where it now officially launches its new chipset which will be the base for the new Core 2 Duo processors, which is in turn expected to arrive soon. Intel G965 is also known by the code-name Broadwater and is expected to be the foundation for both of Intel’s Viiv and vPro platforms. The chipset sports Intel’s new Core processors with 1066MHz bus and, just as AMD; DDR2-800.

The memory controller has been tuned through a new technology called Fast Memory Access, which will result in optimal memory performance by, among other things, lowering access times for the modules.

Other than that the Intel G965 Express chipset will offer a 8 channel HD sound circuit, Clear Video Technology (through GMA X3000) and Quiet System Technology, which will lower both heat and noise coming from the system.

When the first Intel G965 Express motherboards will appear in stores remains to be seen, but you can count on that it will at worse be when Intel decides to launch Conroe. Several motherboard manufacturers are displaying its G965 Express motherboards at Computex and we have already received a number of press releases from manufacturers regarding their new motherboards. This includes MSI and Gigabyte which have announced two G965-based motherboards;

MSI P965 Neo

Gigabyte 965P-DQ6
