Intel has now officially stated that its PXA26x-series of ARM-based XScale processors will be discontinued. Up to January 18th 2006 you will still be able to order PXA26x-chips and Intel will keep delivering them until July 18th. Intel has two alternatives for the PXA26x, the more advanced PXA27x-series, which is the most common processor in Intel based pocket PCs, but also the older PXA255.
