Small preview imageSkullTrail is the new dual-socket enthusiast platform with room for two Extreme Edition processors. It’s based on the Seaburg chipset and comes with 1600 MHz FSB support, and dual PCIe 2.0 slots with x16 bandwidth each. BoneTrail is the sibling with only one socket, but also two PCIe 2.0 slots with x16 bandwidth. It’s also the successor to the highly praised BadAxe 2, which was based on the previous high-end chipset 975X. BadAxe 2 was praised for several reasons; it has passive cooling (no heatpipes), decent price and excellent performance. The successor is now here it seems to fairly alike its predecessor.

Team NextGen has namely published a series of pictures of the board itself and its BIOS, both with stock cooling and water cooling blocks from Koolance. The board sure looks promising, but we will have to wait for the first performance evaluations. Until then you can always peek at the pictures, whereof some can be found right below;
