Gigabyte Xenon Dual Mode Touchpad Mouse is the first mouse that can also act as a touchpad for your computer. It is wireless and can through a simple push of a button switch between mouse and touch mode, where you get access to a number of multi-touch commands.
Gigabyte claims that the mouse, or ”mouse pad” if you wish, has a reach of 10 meters and the optic sensor offers a resolution of 1,000 DPI and 125 Hz update frequency. It measures 95x55x19 mm (LxBxH) and weighs 68 gram.
Xenon Dual Mode Touchpad Mouse is a rarely seen angular creation, but it has its advantages since the top surface is in reality a touch pad with support for various multi-touch commands – which can be optimized by the user. The mouse has a side button that allows for switching between mouse more and pad mode, th default being the mouse mode.
The idea of regular mouse funktion and touch technology in the same product is not new and both Apple and Microsoft have announced similar products. Gigabyte seems to be the first though to offer two different modes of operation, which should have its appeal in a certain crowd of users.
Gigabyte revealed nothing about the price or the availability, other than that it will be available soon.
