Gigabyte will soon start shipping its Super Overclock version of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 and the card has now appeared in a preview where the frequencies of the card has been revealed to be 815/1630/4000 MHz from factory, thanks to a big cooler and 7 phase power supply.

NVIDIA puts much importance in partners launching overclocked models of GeForce GTX 460 to stand up to AMD’s coming launch of Radeon HD 6800. We have witnessed several companies launching overclocked models of GeForce GTX 460, but just like MSI, Gigabyte has gone all the way and rebuilt the card from the ground and up. The circuit board is bigger and houses more powerful components, while the clock frequencies has been turned up quite a bit.

In the preview at Lab501 the card was also overclocked and with 1.087V GPU voltage it reached 950/1900/4800MHz, which has to be considered more than OK with the stock cooler.

Like MSI Cyclone and Hawk we presume that Gigabyte GTX 460 SOC will be most comfortable under more extreme cooling, something we hope to see more of in the near future.
