Gigabyte isn’t shy when it comes to equipping its P55 motherboards with functions and components. Pictures of the coming P55-UD6 motherboard shows it goes for quantity, just like UD5 board. Beside the 24 phase power supply it has blessed the board with six DDR3 memory slots, which is two more than the standard with P55, mainly since LGA1156 processors only has dual-channel memory controllers. Higher memory capacity is never a bad thing though.

It also sports three PCI Express x16 slots for CrossFireX and 3-way SLI to boot. Other mentionable features include SATA 6Gbps and as a member of the Ultra Durable family it has plenty of copper for cooling, and the copper layers of the PCB are 70 µm instead of 35 µm (2oz vs 1oz), which should result in lower temperatures and better stability.

The passive cooling use big heatpipes for spreading the head across the four heatsinks and should be enough to keep temperatures in check. Like little brother P55-UD5, It also supports Power over eSATA .
