nVidia is the first company to launch a graphics card equipped with GDDR3; the new generation of memories for graphics cards. Wtih GDDR3 you can reach higher frequencies while the memory requires lower voltage which making the heatproduction less than with regular DR-memory at the same frequencies.
What frequencies the new 5700 Ultra-cards will use with this memory is something we haven’t been told though but we have mailed nVidia asking that very question. We will return when we know more.
