GeForce 7900GTX is expected to replace NVIDIA’s surprisingly popular GeForce 7800GTX 512MB, that despite its very high price completely sold out already at the launch. Now it seems that GeForce 7900GTX will be moving towards another goal and not 100% pure performance. Some of NVIDIA’s Asian partners have namely been disappointed with the 7900GTX circuit’s performance as it at best is only 8%-10% faster than the predecessor 7800GTX 512MB. A fact that means that NVIDIA will not be able to beat ATI and its Radeon X1900 XTX anytime soon. To see exactly how well the circuit will perform in comparison tests will have to wait until after March 9, but it looks like we will getting a more even fight than we had anticipated.
