GeForce 7900 is NVIDIA’s latest addition to the market based on the latest 90nm manufacturing technology. A smaller manufacuring process usually means that the circuits can be pushed to higher frequencies and the 7900 series is no exception. Rumours state that GeForce 7900 GTX will be launched with a specified GPU frequency at 650MHz, but it seems that several manufacturers wants to launch cards with even higher frequencies. The limit seems to be 700MHz, which is barely possible for the 7900GTX using regular cooling. We will most likely see several video card manufacturers that will try to develop cards with these frequencies. In a week or so we will be able to supply you with answers to how much overclocking potential NVIDIA’s new flagship really has.
