GeForce 7800 GTX 512MB was available in stores at launch just as NVIDIA had promised. After the first shipments less and less 7800 GTX 512MB has found their way out to the stores and the reason is neither the GPU or the optimized PCB. It’s Samsung’s sofisticated GDDR3 memory at 1.1ns which isn’t available at enough quantities. By the looks of it the supply of 7800 GTX 512MB will be poor up until the new year arrives and perhaps even longer than that. Which actually could make ATI the only company that delivers a high performance card with 512MB in large quantities before Christmas. Radeon X1800 XT is namely on the way and also for ATI’s CrossFire technology.
