Fuel cell batteries have been discussed for a long time now, but we’ve seen very little progress lately. However, now it seems that we are about to enter a real ”fuel cell era” as Casio now developed a unit using solid polymer fuel cells that refines hydrogen gas from methanol. Casio’s ”battery” is 90% smaller than competing models and a laptop with this technology will be able to run for up to 20h before it has be recharged. A very impressive figure that really show how fuel cell batteries would revolutionize the laptop industry.
