Canon is one of the biggest manufacturers of copiers and digital cameras, and as one of the biggest companies around Canon has seen and experienced the problem with batteries in todays portable electronics products. Therefore, Canon has started research in fuel-cells in hope of running their digital cameras, among others, with this more efficient source of power. Canon already has three different prototypes of their ”fuel-cell battery”, and they can be used in portable printers, digital cameras and smaller mobile units. There is still some problems with fuel-cells and even if we won’t see them in our products in the nearest future, there is a good chance of getting to see the fuel-cells in our futures mobile units power supply.
