We have at pretty many occasions reported about France proposals regarding DRM, and thoughts and opinions about this. While the companies and lobbyists are tearing the hair the consumers are celebrating and more countries, Denmark first of all, have shown interest in following France. This new law is suppose to minimize other companies’ control over you hardware, but mainly your media and make it possible to e.g. use songs downloaded from iTunes with other players than Apple’s own iPods. We have to add that this is just an early stage and we are still far from what Apple calls ”state-sponsored piracy.” DRM is controversial, but at the same time is piracy something that costs musicians and others a lot of money and before we have a good solution to this we will see hot debates going back and forth all the time.
