France getting closer to legalize file sharing

We have at several occasions reported about the controversies the french are going through at the moment. There are some hot discussions going on regarding how file sharing and copy protection should influence our every day life. We’ve now come so far that suggestion will be presented for the French minister of culture this wednesday. It seems that in exchange for the file sharing they will have to pay a license to the state to cover any losses the artists may suffer from. This however still far from an actual law and there are some experts who claim that such a law isn’t even possible considering the intellectual property rights laws in the EU.
