Mozilla has updated the latest beta of Firefox to version 3.6.4. The browser has been updated to Beta 3 and a lot of bugs have been fixed. One of the most exciting features of this version is separate processes for (some) extensions. The technology is called ”Out Of Process Plugins” (OOPP) and means that just because the plugin goes down the browser can still go on, for example Adobe Flash or Apple Quicktime.

”This version of Firefox will offer uninterrupted browsing for Windows and Linux users when there is a crash in the Adobe Flash, Apple Quicktime, or Microsoft Silverlight plugins. If a crash in one of these plugins happens, Firefox will continue to run and users will be able to submit a crash report before reloading the page to try again.”

Mozilla is expected to release the final version of Firefox 3.6.4 on May 13th.
