Evo: Phase One is the revolution of video gaming according to the company Envizionsinc Computer Entertainment. You who are caught by surprise has all the right to feel that way. We’ve been following the video game console Phantom’s trouble through the years and the thought behind it is to be a video game console and an online service, but that it is really a PC and PC games that you download through this, and that is actualy exactly what Evo: Phase One is all about. A disguised PC with a connected specially designed online service.

A familiar design of the controller

In its press release its says the following:

”Other key features include customized liquid cooling system, built-in biometric fingerprint reader and digital video recording features. EVO is designed much like a PC, customers can purchase extended warranties and get next day onsite assistance or 24/7 IT phone service and remote access service packages. The system’s online and networkability will be more apparent in phase two and customized games will be available as the systems continue to expand. EVO will give customers the option to upgrade certain aspects of the system. The EVO: Phase One will offer one package option, with the suggested retail price of $679.99. The package will carry one wireless PC game controller and an EVO: Direct discount card.

The graphics is supplied by Sapphire and its Radeon X1600 Pro, an ok gaming card, but hardly something you will run through hoops for. The processor will be an Athlon 64 3200+. What we can conclude is that the price will be far above that of a regular video game console and that these will then offer better performance. The question is if not a computer for the same price would be faster as well?

This is just ”Phase One” though, there will be another two and in the meantime not just the console, but also the online service will be extended as you will be able to find games specifically designed for the console.
