Graphic cards with 512MB hasn’t exactly taken the market by storm so far and we can understand why. There are simply very few occations when you would actually need that much memory as compared to what 256MB will performancewise. Despite this both nVidia and ATi has launched 512MB graphi cards and among the high ends-cards ATI has its X800 XL 512MB. However eVGA is about to launch a GeForce 6800 GT with 512MB ram, for $399 which is actually cheaper then previously mentioned ATI-card. But with 7800 GT-cards at the same price we have hard time to tell who would actually buy this. Source: eVGA
