Doom – the movie

Doom was probably the start of the modern FPS (First Person Shooter) genre and few games are as wellknown. Especially as ID Software launched part three last year. But it seems we will see some new Doom-material already in October, but this time we’re talking about a movie. Many of you are probably already aware of this but to those who aren’t have leanred something new today. However over at Bit-tech they’ve digged deeper and checked out ’Doom the movie’ written an article on the movie that will hit the theatres in October.

Many Doom-fans have been anxious to see how well the Doom-theme would be transferred to the movie scene considering the games more or less simply lack a story it might seem like quite a job creating a 90 minutes long movie from this … nothing. Universal and Warner Bros have set the budget to 70 million dollars so there shouldn’t be a lack of money at least.

Personally I hope this movie will make it all the way even tough my hopes are quite low as it seems The Thing and Vin Diesel will be playing two of the main characters.
