DFI LANParty UT ICFX3200-T2R is the first and perhaps only motherboard to arrive based on AMD/ATI’s RD600 chipset. ASUS is said to be working on a RD600 motherboard, but DFI has become a synonym to RD600 for the last few months delays and discussions about the chipset. The motherboard has been launched and at Anandtech they’ve taken a closer look at DFI’s longed enthusiast motherboard and published a performance preview. The performance of RD600 isn’t the best on the market, but the circuit is certainly among the top performers and the overclocking potential is certainly nothing to complain about.

”It has taken too long for this board to arrive to the market place but the extra time seems to have paid off with a board that while not perfect is very good. Stability and overall performance are very competitive, and overclocking at this point is among the elite; just remember, you will have to work for that performance but the satisfaction of having done so is well worth it – at least for the serious enthusiasts.”

As expected there is an obvious enthusiast angle with the RD600 and the only thing missing is a couple of competitive high-end graphics cards from ATI to pair up with the platform in a CrossFire configuration. Radeon X1950 XTX, with all due respect, but NVIDIA’s G80 architecture is what most people are wanting today.
