People, the days of DDR (DDR1) are slowly reaching it’s end. During it’s reign of power we have seen a lot of really great chips. From the first AH-6 to the TCCD. But the most famous must of course be the BH-5 chip, which responds very well to voltage and overclockes great with tight timings. Some weeks ago, LastViking, formerly known for his outstanding FSB overclocking with the nForce2 chipset, finaly broke the 300MHz benchable barrier. Using an Athlon 64 CPU and 2x256MB Kingston BH-5 sticks on 4.03V (!!!) he managed a SuperPI 1million bench at 300MHz. While the 300MHz barrier has been broken before using TCCD, it hasn’t been done with this kind of timings. LastViking has now pushed the limits even further to 302MHz! What we are hoping for now is a pair of 512MB sticks that can do the same, only time will tell if we are ever going to see ít. A big applause for LastVikings’ outstanding overclock everybody!
