Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D is one of the many news that will be presented at IFA in Berlin. Creative’s Latest creation is a sound card equipped with the world’s first quad-core sound and voice processor that in USB or PCI Express-format targets all stationary platforms.

Creative’s new sound card of the Recon3D series is based on the fresh sound processor Sound Core3D that was presented back in May. As the successor to X-Fi, Sound Core3D has raised the bar with considerably more powerful circuit design where the sound and voice processor have four powerful digital signal processork cores (DSP) and a high resolution audio codec on the same silicon.

Creative has launched the first products with its Sound Core3D circuit and Sound Blaster Recon3D will appear in several versions. First of all we have three different PCI Express sound cards;

  • Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D Fatal1ty Champion – Top model with bundled external I/O unit with extra ports and bundled microphone – Q1 2012
  • Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D Fatal1ty Professional– Extra I/O ports on the sound card and bundled microphone – Unknown launch date
  • Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D – Entry model with integrated headphone amplifier with THX TruStudio Pro – Q4 2011

The sound card all have 6-channel 24-bit 102dB DACs and 4-channel 24-bit 101dB analog-to-digital converter (ADCs). Also integrated headphone amplifier, digital microphone interface and multiple digital and analog in and outputs.

The sound cards also supports THX TruStudio Pro – with loads of settings and sound effects – and Crystal Voice where the entry model will not support all varieties of sound altering effects. The focus is not only on improving the playback of sound but also the recording of voices for IP telephony or e.g. game chatter.

Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D USB is an external version of the sound card with the same sound processor that supports most platform on the market, includinig PC, Mac, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The external sound card have similar functionality as the PCI Express based solutions, but with its optical input it has the ability to pick up sound from a lot more devices. Where technologies for improving clarity of voices and surround effects for improved gaming experience.

Sound Blaster Recon3D will launch in October costing 99€. later this year will be a package deal called Recon3D Omega where the Creative Tactic3D Omega is included.
