Corsair is one of the largest memory makers and it has a great assortment of enthusiast products. It has some favorable agreements and access to loads of memory circuits, which makes it possible to launch extreme memory series with hand picked circuits. These are sold with high specifications and can often go higher at extreme overclocking. This impressive speed was achieved with two memory modules in a dual-channel setup on a Gigabyte P55A-UD7 motherboard. After impressive results over 2600MHz with regular air cooling matose decided to turn to more extreme cooling and dry ice to be precise.

Even if we’ve seen DDR3 frequencies above 3,000MHz it is not uncommon but these have been singles with lower density, which makes matose’s achievement all the more impressive.
