Kentsfield will with its four processor cores offer massive parallel computing power to regular desktop computers. The processor will only be available in Intel’s Extreme series, which means both extreme performance and an extreme price, but at the start of next year quad-core processors will be coming in much larger number. Intel has already sped up the launch of Kentsfield and its server equivalent Clovertown once and now it seems Intel will do it once more. New information namely states that Intel has moved the launch of Kentsfield to November 1, instead of November 14 which earlier information indicated. Clovertown will still be launched on November 13 though. If this information is correct we should be able to count on seeing Kentsfield two weeks earlier than we’ve anticipated.
