Pentium E1000 is the name of Intel’s new single core CPU series based on the new Core architecture. The common belief is that these new CPUs will fill the void below the Core 2 Duo and will probably be a common sight on the OEM market. DailyTech reports about three models being released in the second quarter next year; namely the E1020, E1040 and E1060. These specific CPUs will according to sources run at 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8GHz respectively using an 800MHz FSB and 1MB L2 cache. These CPUs has also been stripped of Virtualization, HyperThreading and EIST (Enchanced Intel SpeedStep Technology) compared to the older P4 600 series. The P4 600 series will be phased out at the same time the E1000 series enters the market.
