BenQ was an early supporter of the 1080p-format by being the first monitor manufacturer to launch a panel with the true HDTV resolution 1920×1080 pixels, using the 16:9 format instead of the computer standard 16:10. BenQ continues to show its support for the 16:9 format by launching a new series of monitors offering the very latest technology, not just for the everyday user, but also those who use their computers for playing high definition multimedia, like Blu-ray and such.
The new series includes a couple of 16:9 models sporting native 1080p resolution for those who want to enjoy borderless HD movies, something which is impossible for most monitors of the 16:10 format.
The two models measures 21.5″, E2200HD, and 24″, E2400HD. Both sports black piano paint and on top of the HDTV resolution it also sports a massive dynamic contrast ration at 10 000:1 and a fast response time of 2ms (GtG). Both monitors comes with HDMI 1.3 and DVI inputs, both with HDCP, which really shows that BenQ is trying to please the multimedia users.
”The 16:9 full-HD widescreen displays enable real 1:1 image reproduction of full-HD material (1080 lines). Reproduced images are hence in their maximum native resolutions, true-to-detail and crystal-clear with no loss of quality. Only with a 16:9 display can users enjoy a real full screen without irritating black bars at the upper and lower edges of the display – the 16:9 format being standard for Blu-ray, HD Ready and Full HD.”
BenQ has also launched M2200HD and M2400HD that are different from the two siblings in that they are white and have detachable cameras, more of a home user monitor than an office monitor. The E2200HD and E2400HD models are already listed and seem quite affordable, 190€ and €300 respectively. The M series have been harder to locate.
