Radeon X1900 XTX is the hottest card on the market at the moment, both literally and figurally speaking. ATI has been feeling the pressure from NVIDIA that with the launch of GeForce 7800 GTX 512MB was able to outperform ATI after its big launch of the X1000 series and the flagship Radeon X1800 XT. Now the time has come for ATI to retaliate if we are to believe the red manufacturer. We decided to take a closer look at the high end model of the new Radeon X1900 series and except for the regular performance tests we decided to do some overclocking tests using both the stock cooler and a serious water cooling system. Effective cooling is something Radeon X1900 XTX gladly accepts, it is the hottest thing around.

”But nVidia’s shrewd moves were over and now it was ATI’s turn. ATI had in parallel with the R520 also developed a circuit codenamed R580. With a more mature 90nm-manufacturing process and multiple enhancements to the core, it was now time for ATI to perform a castling and get back on the playing field.”
