R580 and RV535 are the coming followups to ATi’s R520 (X1800) and RV530 (X1600) and it has been speculated a lot about what manufacturing process the two will be made with. According to information posted by Anandtech it seems that R580 will use the same 90nm process as R520. The mid end RV535 will however use the much more uncommon 80nm manufacturing process. Thus neither 90nm nor 65nm. ATi’s circuit manufacturer TSMC and UMC are both capable of making 65nm-circuits but this capacity seems to be mainly utilized by Intel and IBM for their processors.
