We have found new drivers for both ATi and nVidia’s cards:

ATi Catalyst 3.10 beta (3.9 ”hotfix”) corrects some problems, among them are:

  • The driver is not installed correctly on AIW cards

  • The computer hangs while playing Call Of Duty

  • Textures/polygons flicker in IL2 Sturmovik

  • 3D and color profiles can not be saved between driver switches

nVidia ForceWare 53.03 corrects the following problems:

  • Clone mode is activated on FX5600 even though only one monitor is present

  • 4x FSAA in Tiger Woods does not work correctly on FX5950

  • MX440 and Ti4400 crashes in Battlefield 1942 Desert Combat

  • The FSAA performance is low in Homeworld 2 with 5950

  • Ti4400 and FX5950 in Windows XP do not render BF1942 Desert Combat correctly

  • FX5950 in Windows XP has low performance in X2 The Threat

  • All GeForce cards has problems with in game videos in Warcraft III

By the way nVidia’s 3DMark03 optimizations are back in this driver and the performance is now back at the exact same level as before the 340 patch. We have interviews with ATi, nVidia and Futuremark incoming which are to be published next week with some other information about the subject. Furthermore this new driver has support for a Quadro FX which we have never heard of earlier, its product number is 1100 which eventually indicates that it is built on the old NV30 technique.
